ABOUT THE BOOK

After living in Somerville, MA for 50 years, Dr. Grace and her dog Willow moved to Trinity, Florida in 2018. They both enjoy exploring their small garden in Florida and encountering different animals and creatures.

Using his bark, Willow (the Detective Dog) alerts Dr. Grace as animals such as otters, rabbits, turtles, frogs, and more appear in their garden. At first, Dr. Grace and Willow didn't know much about what was going on just outside their home, but as they continued to take care of their garden, they both have developed a stronger understanding and respect for their surroundings. 

As Dr. Grace becomes more aware of the outdoors, she becomes more concerned about the impact of new buildings and developments on the environment. By learning about the animals around us, we can appreciate and protect our earth. Through these stories, readers are encouraged to take care of the environment around them,  no matter how small the action may seem.
